All RDA’s who wish to use an ultrasonic scaler for cement removal around orthodontic appliances MUST complete an approved course of instruction in the use of an ultrasonic scaler. This course is designed to include clinical and legal responsibilities, indications/contraindications, patient and operator safety, as well as clinical practice.
This course is required for attendance in the OAP class. The class may also be taken alone to just perform this function as an RDA.
Bring an empty soda can to class, a mask and several pairs of non-latex gloves and wear scrubs.
